Strictly: Layton Williams addresses scoring from Craig
Strictly Come Dancing’s Layton Williams received backlash when he first started the competition after fans claimed he had an unfair advantage over his dance background. Layton has since hit out against the claims and expressed there will be “many more” to have a dance background in the future.
During his time on the show, Layton and Nikita have had many successful performances and only landed in the bottom two once. Now they have one final chance to win the competition and lift the Glitterball Trophy.
Layton recently opened up about being aware there was chatter about his dance background and told Express.co.uk and other press: “I was obviously aware that it might have had some noise.
“Was definitely not anticipating how much it had just because I am not the only person that has been in this position so I don’t understand why it was shock horror news.
“Because I am not the first and won’t be the last so let’s just keep it moving you know. The way we have been able to manage it has been my favourite part.

“It has not defined my journey, not the keyboard warriors because they are a small percentage.
“I am going to look back on my Strictly journey and smile and not think about the trolls.”
The couple also touched on how they felt to be in the final, as Nikita exclaimed: “We’re really excited.
“We can especially not wait to dance and we are official so the Quickstep and Argentine Tango and we can’t wait to dance the special Show Dance.”

Layton added: “Good, feel like I am just like woo! But it is nice to revisit the dances actually, proper throwback!
“We learnt that [quickstep] ages ago and we are in the same studio that we learnt it so there are a lot of memories in there.
“I am trying to do it the same but he is like ‘No’ and I’m like is that not cute anymore!” to which Nikita interjected: “We are elevating and improving. You know week two versus week 13.”
Strictly Come Dancing final airs Saturday, December 16 from 7pm on BBC One.
