BBC Strictly star reveals surprise new ‘normal job’ after walking away from show

Kristina Rhianoff was a well known face on Strictly Come Dancing between the years 2008 and 2015. The 46 year old dancer joined the BBC show for the sixth series and competed every year until the thirteenth run – even making it to the final in 2012 with Blue singer, Simon Webbe.

Despite leaving Strictly eight years ago, Kristina has still maintained an active social media presence, plus continued her work as a professional dancer away from the bright lights of the show. From throwing herself into her own dance school, Bespoke Ballroom, to judging other prestigious dance competitions, the Strictly star doesn't seem to have slowed down.

However, Kristina has recently revealed that she's added another string to her bow after retiring from the BBC One show and has embarked on a new career path much less chilled than her Strictly days.

Taking to her Instagram, Kristina shared with her 42.1K followers that she's now a qualified yoga teacher. But not only that she also noted that she's trained up 13 new yoga teachers under her guidance.

"And just like that it is over … My very first Yoga Teacher Training at @sooyogauk came to an end yesterday with 13 new qualified yoga teacher under my guidance," she captioned a group photo of her wearing a graduation gown.

"I can't really explain what it feels like to be part of someone's spiritual, personal and professional development. Those who know can understand what I'm referring to and I'm beyond grateful for the opportunity to guide and inspire these individuals," she continued.

Kristina added she went through "many metamorphoses" to get to where she is now, sharing the stark difference between the "glitter and the glamour of Strictly Come Dancing and stepping into a different world of leggings and no make up life."

"It hasn't been easy, but it has been almost like a rebirth of myself," she continued, before championing herself for "being brave enough" to follow a new passion without "giving into doubts."

Kristina concluded the post by expressing her love for both dancing and yoga, but commented on the "incredible feeling" that has come with teaching her students.

"These 13 wonderful people will be incredible teachers as they all are the most kind supportive and caring people ever."

Following the career change, plenty of fans took to the comments section to congratulate Kristina.

"Congratulations to everyone," one person said, while a second penned: "It’s official Your a Yoga Mum to 13 little Yogini's."
